Dr. Straight attended Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She went on to complete her Doctor of Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As a third-year medical student, Dr. Straight was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Dr. Straight continued her medical training at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where she completed her internal medicine internship, dermatology residency, and micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology fellowship. She received a professionalism award during her second year of residency and served as a chief resident in her final year.
In 2020, Dr. Straight relocated to Austin, Texas, with her husband to be close to family while raising their children. While in Texas, she has cared for patients in Austin, Bastrop, and San Marcos.
Dr. Straight has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences. She is a physician speaker for Castle Biosciences, which aligns with her passion for providing cutting-edge medicine for her patients.
Dr. Straight is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and the American College of Mohs Surgeons (ACMS).
In her free time, Dr. Straight enjoys spending time with her three children, husband, and Labrador retriever. She likes to stay active by running, hiking, and doing yoga. She loves to read and watch Survivor with her husband. She looks forward to connecting with new and current patients at Pure Dermatology.
